The Texas Dragon/Lion Dance Team (TDDT) and the United States Dragon & Lion Dance Federation (USDLDF) are proud to present a Fut San Style Lion Dance Seminar from October 24th to 25th in Austin, Texas.
This course will be taught by Grandmaster Lee Kam Wing of the Seven Star Praying Mantis style. Grandmaster Lee will teach an additional martial arts seminar for those interested in the Seven Star Mantis style.

Description
This course is designed for practitioners of all skill levels to come together and learn more about the beautiful and robust style of Fut San lion dance. The course will cover the following topics:
Lion handling
Stepping
Head movements
Tail coordination
Drumming, including Seven Star Beat and Drum Flowering techniques
Coordination of drum, gong, and cymbals
Traditional Chengs used for businesses
This seminar will be hands on, and participants should expect to be active most of the time instead of sitting through lectures. To maximize the instruction and practice time for individuals attending this seminar, in person attendance is limited to a maximum of 50 participants (48 slots left). Online attendance is limited to 30 people (26 slots left).

Note: Prices will increase by $50 for in person attendees and by $25 for online attendees on September 1, 2020.
Note: This course is not an introduction to lion dance. Prior experience in the art is necessary to attend this event.
Note for Online Attendees: Individuals purchasing an online attendance ticket will have access to instructional blocks and Q&A sessions during the seminar. They will not receive feedback during practice times. These tickets are for individual use and not for groups. Any person found to have multiple people using access to their ticket will be removed from the stream, and their course fees will not be refunded.

Note: Those attending the lion dance seminar that have previous martial arts experience are welcome to participate in this course and will receive a discount upon registering for both events.
Note: This course is not designed to teach beginners of Chinese Martial Arts, prior experience is necessary to attend this event.

The Instructor
About Grandmaster Lee Kam Wing
Grandmaster Lee has been propagating the arts of Seven Star Mantis and Lion Dance since 1972 in his native Hong Kong and around the world. In his time as an instructor of these arts he has published numerous books and videos on the art of Seven Star Mantis, and has been featured in numerous magazines, interviews, and documentaries worldwide. Grandmaster Lee’s lion dance drumming skills were recently featured during a performance along with the prestigious Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra.
In addition, Grandmaster Lee leads the Hong Kong Southern and Northern Martial Arts Federation and the World of Seven Star Traditional Martial Arts Federation. Grandmaster Lee's students continue to propagate the arts in Hong Kong (as teachers in the Hong Kong branch of Chin Woo), and in other countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Hungary, France, and Australia.

COVID-19 Disclaimers
The University of Texas at Austin requires all individuals inside buildings on their campuses to wear face masks. This is not a negotiable point, and if someone attending does not wish to abide by these rules, they will be required to leave with no refund issued.
TDDT and the USDLDF are aware of the constantly shifting nature of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the event the seminar is cancelled due to COVID-19, TDDT will offer the attendee the choice to either apply their registration fees to the rescheduled date of these courses or receive a refund.
In the case of the courses being held, but certain areas of the country remaining quarantined and/or have travel restrictions, TDDT will offer access to those affected as an online attendee (with a refund of the difference between an online ticket and an in person ticket) or a full refund.
